Postal bomb training course updated for 2007 PDF Print

Is the mail your staff handle safe? Or could it contain a bomb or something designed to harm them and others.

Our one day course (newly revised for 2007) is designed for all companies whether in the government or commercial sector who want their staff to know how to recognise a suspect device and how to react.

Terrorist and extremist activity is on the increase and it literally only costs a £1 or so to build a credible or realistic hoax device and as little as 23p to send it through the post. This can cause major disruption to your business, leading to loss of customers and revenue.

Over recent years companies have been targeted by; Extremists, Activists, Disgruntled customers, Children (for fun), Disaffected staff and Extortionists.

The courses which are delivered in a easy to understand, modern, interactive style, fully utilising audio visual elements, practical exercises and delegate participation can cost as little as £50 per person and are run either in our fully equipped Dorset based training centre or on your company premises.

The course will help staff feel safer and competent in how to deal with emergency situations and what procedures they should follow, this can save you time and money in avoiding false alarms.

The course explains the risk in the UK today and why your company or organisation may be at risk and covers other aspects such as postal bomb recognition, methods of detection, biological threats, postal procedures, telephone bomb threats and basic contingency planning.

The course is aimed at those working in or responsible for mail room, facilities management, security, reception, telephonist and goods in functions as well as anyone involved in the bulk processing of incoming mail.

The course has been developed and is delivered by Gary Hepburn and Ernest Hopkins. Gary has over 15 years experience advising on security in both commercial and government sectors and has advised many companies in the facilities management, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, media, banking and research sectors. Ernest is a former Metropolitan Police Officer who was involved in crime prevention and response to terrorist incidents, on leaving the police service he was a security manager in the media industry and then set up his own security consultant.
